Source and Age Verification
In response to the passage of the Farm Bill of 2007 including Country of Origin Label requirements for meat beginning in 2008, FoodLogiQ will add Source and Age Verification to its Food Safety Audit and Test System. We understand cost is an important factor for farmers, so we offer the system for only $10 per month per user. Our software is web based and compatible with any USDA or CCIA approved RFID ear tags. The Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (Farm Bill) included requirements for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to promulgate regulations associated with Source and Age Veritication for meat, fish, perishable agricultural commodities and peanuts. All retailers and their suppliers are to conform to labeling standards. These standards require that an auditable information trail be developed to ensure accuracy in labeling. The law does not permit "self-certification" as a method of complying with the requirements. Audits must be conducted at packers, producers and other suppliers to ensure proper records are being kept. FoodLogiQ has developed national traceability software that enables traceability of livestock from farm of origin to the processing facility. To assure compliance, we also provide an audit marketplace and reporting tool. The system is based on our extensive experience working with the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium and the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency. “FoodLogiQ is building on the success of a proven system.
