Scrum Master

FoodLogiQ, the leading food safety, quality management and traceability Software as a Service company, is looking for an experienced, dedicated, talented and highly motivated Scrum Master to join our team. The Scrum Master (SM) is a servant leader who will enable their team to work as effectively as possible. Removes bottlenecks and issues that slow down the team’s progress. Coaches the team to own and continuously improve their process and practices. Escalates issues outside of team control. Facilitates mandatory scrum team meetings and ensures scrum practices are adhered to.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Guide, coach and motivate the team with the goal of driving the team to high performance by creating healthy Agile environment.
  • Understands and upholds the scrum framework. Advocate of the agile framework.
  • Protects the team from distractions and strives for early understanding of the goal. Proactively manage dependencies and remove impediments. Locate and prevent dependencies for the team before they may see them. Know when to escalate dependencies to management. Protects the team from distractions like non-sprint work and changing business requirements.
  • Facilitates the required meetings (daily stand up/huddle, release/sprint planning, sprint demo/retrospective). Knows how to incorporate offshore and remote team members.
  • Uses the appropriate features in Jira (Burnup/Burndown chart, cumulative flow diagram, enhanced velocity chart, Release/Sprint planning, capacity planning).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the various stakeholders and team players.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience is Agile, Scrum or related field.
  • 5+ years working in a Software Technology environment.
  • Experience playing Scrum Master role for at least 2 years for a software development team that was diligently applying scrum principles.
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools like Jira, Visio and all Office Tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, team building and has excellent communication.
  • Lead by example, be accountable, adaptive, open minded, result oriented, continuous learner and be a team player.
